MMTB- ACTORS & DIRECTORS CHALLENGE- Shot Film Production/Potluck EVENTS

ON this event we- Get into teams, Make Short Films, Network, Eat, & Editing is done over a two month period, then there will be a THEATRE Screening of the Short Films Made and we VOTE. Winning Films get Screened Again a few times a year and get on a DVD, also an  MMTB Trophy and Ribbons for the Team.

How does an MMTB ACTOR & Director’s Challenge Work EXACTLY???…..

You show up with a food item, or without and pay extra, get signed up, get assigned a team, go off and write a story based on who you have on your team and location you want to use for shooting (we are all over the Bay Area depends on the month), we shoot the story, and then have a month and a half or more at times to edit the film, then it gets screened and voted on at the Landmark Shattuck Theatre and give awards to winners on the following screening when the winning films get screened again! That about sums it up  – then we have annual awards, best of the best etc etc… Also they get on a DVD, we have 3 DVD’s out currently.. 4th one coming by the beginning of next year. MUA’s with complete kits, Sound people with Complete Gear like Boom, Recorder, Lavs etc and DP’s with Pro Camera Gear are FREE to get in with food item AFTER their first Event/Film Submission. DP’s/Directors that fail to provide footage or dont get their films in can’t Direct or DP with us again.

SUBMISSIONS DUE for the movies made during this event BY YouTube to MMTB via facebook or email to Info@MovieMakingBay.com- On the 1st of the month after next- and then once approved, must upload film to dropbox by the next day. These Films will be screened and voted on the month it was submitted during the MMTB Director’s Challenge Event which is every Second Saturday of the month.

THIS IS FOR FUN, FOOD, MOVIE MAKING AND NETWORKING!!! NO STRESS ENVIRONMENT- Please don’t stress out about having a perfect product in 6 hours or possibly less. Please respect that everyone is there to enjoy there day. NO pre-written scripts please, everyone will pitch their ideas to their chosen teams , vote on them and decide whos to go with, should be very quick and easy. Anyone can act in the film including the directors and writers. Writers will organize all the thoughts including their own and write out lines etc needed to help with task

Everyone will be able to participate in the shoots, choosing will continue until everyone is selected, even if you will be an extra

This is a great production game/competition, and by the end of the event, everyone will have filmed a short to take home and edit by our deadline. After the deadline, we will screen them at our next event people will vote for the best and receive an MMTB Award. Come and Have fun, you will regret it if you miss out!

Please bring all the props, wardrobe, mics, ALL equipment that you can, everything will be helpful for you to get a leg up in the game..

– $5 plus Sharable Food Item or $15 with no food item for people with Camera Gear, Complete Sound Gear KITs, Complete Lighting Kits

-$20 plus Sharable Food Item or $30 with no food item for Everyone Else Including Actors, Writers, All Other Crew with No KITS

+ PLUS – One Time Administrative Fee for New Participants of $20 which includes one FREE PASS to the Landmark Theatre Screening of the films made that day (all listed on the event pages)

CASH or CC ONLY AND NO DISCOUNTS FOR ONLY STAYING A FEW HOURS- Please do not come and harass the door staff when you cannot pay, there is a low income application available that must be accepted a few weeks in advance to the event. For more info please send an email to info@moviemakingbay.com .

TO BE A DIRECTOR/TEAM LEADER YOU MUST BRING YOUR OWN CAMERA EQUIPMENT or DP/cinematographer with equipment, You can also get on a first come first serve list to be assigned someone who will shoot & edit for you. – PEOPLE WITH CAMERA EQUIPMENT ARE Only $5 to get in with food item AT THEIR 2ND TIME DIRECTING WITH MMTB (must have submitted at least one successful MMTB Director Challenge film in order to qualify for this discount with food item)

DIRECTORS- In order to be a director, you must have a professional camera OR if we have cinematographers available, you will be assigned to one, but that is first come first serve, you can only get in free with a food item if you bring the equipment. You may or may not end up with a sound or lighting person, so if you have extra gear, bring it!! The more gear you have, the better equipped you will be for whatever story comes your way!

ACTORS- Don’t forget to bring a few different outfits and any extra props

SOUND, HAIRSTYLISTS, PRODUCERS, LIGHTING, PA ETC- Let us know at registration.

– There will be a table set up for fliers, brochures, resumes, business cards, head shots, so if you want to share anything including other creative products you may have for sale, please feel free to bring them along.
